What is Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Coaching?

(Whoa, that’s a mouthful! Let’s start with mindfulness.)

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a powerful tool for being in the present moment and focusing on what is. Oftentimes, we spend our lives reliving the past or watching our future self in our fantasies. Being fully present can lead to a powerful shift in your day-to-day interactions.

Visualizations, breathing techniques, and various meditation practices are just some of the ways I can help you bring mindfulness into your life. I also use creative methods, individually personalized, to help you move forward. Having an impartial coach allows you to see blocks and barriers, that became unhelpful “habits”,  and develop ways to overcome them swiftly.

Cognitive Behavioral Coaching

Cognitive Behavioral Coaching looks at our perception of reality based on our beliefs, assumptions, and past experiences. Why is this important? This forms our self-talk that we often don’t pay much attention to. But the way we think about challenges will determine how we react to them.

By re-examining our beliefs and assumptions, we can decide which beliefs are serving us, and which ones no longer fit with the person we have become. Perhaps, you were shy as a teenager, but now feel confident and comfortable with people. In what ways does that shy teenager still show up? Do you get thoughts like,” Oh, they wouldn’t be interested in what I have to say” or ” I am surprised they liked my idea!” In what ways are those thoughts holding you back? CBC will help you develop skills to challenge your current paradigm, and shift into another perspective that is more in line with how you envision your life.

What would we do? We would work collaboratively to identify what might be stopping you from reaching your full potential. Next, we would explore what action is needed to achieve your goal in a way that is authentic for you.
